Academy Advocacy

Advocacy is a core function of the Academy of Extreme Environment Medicine (AEEM). We advocate for ethical, professional, and evidence-based standards that protect clinicians, participants, and communities operating in remote and extreme environments.

Through position statements, policy development, education, and engagement with industry and academic partners, AEEM provides an informed and independent voice on issues affecting extreme environment medicine. Our advocacy focuses on professional recognition, clinician wellbeing, ethical practice, safety standards, and the responsible delivery of medical care in austere settings.

AEEM’s advocacy work is guided by clinical expertise, lived operational experience, and a commitment to integrity, fairness, and sustainability within the field of extreme environment medicine.
